Four ways to move your freight

Pick by size and urgency. If you're not sure which one fits, send the details and we'll tell you. Shipping to or from the US? See cross-border trucking between Canada and the USA.

LTL freight

About 1 to 6 pallets · shared trailer

Your pallets ride with other shippers' freight, and you pay for the space you use.

Full truckload

Up to 26 pallets · one shipper

The whole trailer is yours. It loads at your dock and drives straight to the receiver.

Sprinter van

About 3 pallets · direct run

One van carries one shipment and makes no stops in between. For freight that can't wait for a trailer to fill.

Temperature-controlled

Chilled · frozen · heated

Freight that has to stay at a set temperature from pickup to delivery, summer or winter.

Choosing a service

Which service fits your shipment?

Ship LTL when you have a few pallets and a flexible delivery day. Book a full truckload when you have ten or more pallets or need the trailer to yourself. Use a sprinter van when a small shipment is urgent. Choose temperature-controlled when the product has a required temperature.

How it works

From quote to proof of delivery

  1. Send the shipment details

Pickup and delivery locations, number of pallets, size and weight of each, what the freight is, and when it's ready.

  2. Approve the quote

We send a price and a pickup time. Once you approve it, we schedule the truck and the driver arrives with a bill of lading for you to sign.

  3. Delivery and paperwork

The receiver signs the proof of delivery when the freight arrives. Ask us for a copy for your records.

Common questions

Before you book

What do you need to quote a freight shipment?

Six things: the pickup and delivery postal codes, the number of pallets, the length, width, height and weight of each pallet, what the freight is, the date it's ready, and whether each end has a loading dock. With those we can price the shipment without a second round of questions.

What is the difference between LTL and full truckload?

With LTL (less-than-truckload) your pallets share a trailer with other shippers' freight and you pay for the space you use. With full truckload you book the entire trailer and it drives directly from your dock to the receiver. LTL costs less for small shipments. Truckload is faster and involves less handling.

How many pallets fit in a 53-foot trailer?

A 53-foot dry van holds 26 standard 48 × 40 inch pallets loaded straight in a single layer, in 13 rows of two. If the freight can be stacked two high, the same floor holds 52. Weight usually limits the load before floor space does.

Do I need a loading dock?

No, but tell us when you request the quote. Freight picked up or delivered at ground level needs a truck with a liftgate (also called a tailgate) or a forklift on site. Liftgate service is normally an extra charge, and knowing early avoids a failed pickup.
